We had eleven puppies adopted this summer! We are so proud to raise such awesome, beloved dogs who make excellent community members!
As many of you saw, our sweet girl from Fayette County Animal Control, now called Peach Pit, had three healthy puppies yesterday! She has two girls and a boy, whose names we’ll take votes on soon!
Meet Nikki, our gorgeous black lab mix! Nikki was previously a wild dog who lived with extremely limited contact with humans, only seeking out her caretaker for food and shelter. When Nikki was finally caught a last week, she was already pregnant and incredibly shy. Nikki is thriving in her foster home and is learning that humans are pretty great!
The Tiny Tabbies
This crew of eight is just TOO CUTE for words! The Tiny Tabbies, along with their mom Baby, are in foster and can be adopted on August 30th!
This month we had a bunch of adoptions which is awesome! Heather, Harry, Helena, Hooch, Harlee, Blitz, Mojo, the H litter puppies, and a bunch of kittens were adopted by great families. Congratulations to all!
K9 Car Cruise
We’ve been invited to the Kane Foundation’s K9 Car Cruise! Please join us on Saturday August 12th from 10-2 at the Waterfront in Homestead to meet our crew!
We always need foster parents, transport drivers, and dog walkers! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to apply!
Current Adoptable Pets
As always, view all of our loveable babies here!
Check out our available TFF products here! All proceeds go directly back to our animals.
Meet our adoptable, lovable, wonderful hounds, Harry, Helena, and Blitz!
Harry is a 4-5 year old male treeing walker coonhound. He is completely blind, but gets around using his nose and ears! Super sweet with kids and other dogs, and doesn’t bother cats.
Harry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and health cleared! $75 to an approved adopter!
Helena is about 9 months old and as goofy and as loving as anyone could hope for! In hound fashion, Helena has bounds of energy followed by long naps and is willing to follow her nose wherever is takes her.
Helena loves other dogs and is good with kids and cats. Helena would make a great pet for a young family or a senior, as she is just bursting with love to give!
Helena is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is adoptable for $75 to an approved adopter.
Blitz is a male plotthound, about 1-2 years old. Good with other dogs, currently unknown with cats, good with kids! This sweet guy would make a great running or hiking partner!
Not yet neutered, but up to date on vaccines and health cleared. $75 fee to an approved adopter!
We have SO many kittens. And when I say SO many kittens, I mean we have: eighteen kittens under eight weeks old, three nine-month-old males, and one momma cat. And we’re expecting another mom and her litter tomorrow or Friday.
That being said, we are up to our ears in kitten vet bills, round-the-clock feeding schedules, and piles of baby laundry!
If you can donate or share, please do!
Great news! Wizard, our terrier mix, was adopted today! 🙂
On the other hand, we are still swamped with momma cats and their kittens (three litters so far) and dog intake requests (we have three more dogs coming in this week!). We CANNOT continue to help animals without our community support! Even five dollars goes a long way towards a spay or neuter or a bag of food!
It’s been a busy week here, as always!
Momma Marmalade and her five kittens came in on Friday, and all are doing well with supplemental feeds! She is grooming them and caring for them despite the fact that she is very young and extremely underweight. It’s likely that her poor body condition contributed to her inability to lactate.
Wizard, Cookie, and Peanut are all doing really well in their foster homes, and Wizard already has an interested applicant!
We’re doing some pretty big things with our local wildlife rescue center, which we’ll update on later!
Finally, we’re meeting one of our rescue friends to take in another momma kitty, Juniper, who gave birth to five kittens outside… tragically, despite her rescuer’s best efforts, only two kittens survived the outdoors long enough for her to bottle feed, but they did not survive either. Juniper’s story is a reminder of why spaying and neutering is SO vital to healthy pets. On top of Juniper’s entire litter passing away, Juniper has multiple health concerns of her own, including a severe eye infection and retained fetal tissue, that we are addressing. So far her vet bill is already $175. If you would like to contribute to Juniper’s care, please visit our YouCaring page!
We will share photos of Juniper later!
We got opossums! Yep, the only marsupial native to the United States!
We humanely caught, neutered, and vaccinated three male kitties from a local colony. We will continue working with this colony until all cats are TNR’ed (Trap-Neuter-Released or Rehomed), so stay tuned for more! These guys are nine months old and will be adoptable starting 4/30.
Bentley got vaccinated!
And tonight three smaller male dogs come into foster care as well! We will update as we learn more about these boys!
